Who are we? The Mayacoeur charity was created
in 1994, and counted 351 members in December 2001.
They are donators who join up to improve the situation, caring
for the Guatemalan people and the deprived. They are also
volunteers who dedicate a part of their spare time to a cause
they believe in. Others have decided to go to Guatemala to
keep us informed of the status of the projects. In 1999, four
students, Julie Wattinne, Nicolas Fry, Ayméric Blond
and Grégory Watine, have prepared the project of Palin's
Los Balcones school. In 2001, another student Quentin Faucret
stayed more than 120 days in the country and one month in
Péten. Thanks to them and to all our Guatemalan partners,
the projects carry on whether they are education or health
related. As per its motto "Development and dignity",
Mayacoeur takes great interest in the projects which tend
to insure the autonomy of our Guatemalan friends with the
help of our partner the CIS (Centre of International Studies).
This explains our will to support small projects which are
economically viable
